Cycle Hire in Shropshire

One of the many things to do in Ironbridge Gorge with 3.5 hour half day or 7 hour full day hire on our hybrid or electric bikes located in the Wharfage car park, Ironbridge (TF8 7NH) just outside Telford. They are available from 1st April to 30th September. Full day hire starts at 9.30am. Latest time for half day hire is 1.30pm and can be booked online or at our Little Green Kiosk.

Group hire

With our bike hire (hybrid and electric) you and your group can look to have a private trip of your own. Whether you are looking for a solo trip or touring with a group of friends, we can help you out. Children are welcome from the age of 14 years and above. The full-day (7 hour) from Ironbridge to Bridgnorth return is a stunning example of the Shropshire countryside guaranteed to see birdlife and much more! The bikes can be also be hired for a half-day (3.5 hour).

Please Note: Our bikes are designed for designated bike routes and roads. No mountain biking trails are allowed.

Enjoy our hybrid or electric bikes. We provide routes on the N55 and N45 which include a full day Ironbridge – Bridgnorth return or a shorter half day enjoying Ironbridge, the birthplace of the industrial revolution. We provide bike helmet, bike lock and map of local cycling routes.

PLEASE NOTE: As a security deposit for any of our ‘for hire’ services, we require a debit/credit card and driver’s licence for each booking which our kiosk employee will safely retain for the duration of the hire period.  We also require a waiver form to be signed on the day of your trip by the group leader for all cycle hire bookings.    If you do not bring the necessary documents required on the day we reserve the right to cancel your booking with no refund given.

Terms and Conditions

Health and Safety guidelines, rules and regulations

The safety and enjoyment of your trip are dependent on weather on your chosen trip day. We will not allow any trips to proceed when severe conditions are occurring or expected but we do operate rain or shine. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions relating to your hybrid or electric bikes, other equipment and the surrounding area. If you or any of your party have any health issues, this should be discussed first and us made aware of these conditions. In certain circumstances we may discourage you from taking part in the event. Anyone with a history of epilepsy should not participate in this activity. Maximum weight per bike is 17.5 stone. Children under the age of 14 years are not allowed on the bikes. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Minimum age to hire is 18.

Please arrive 10 minutes before your allocated start time, allowing time to be kitted out with the bike, fill out the hire agreement and receive your health and safety briefing. If you are late, this may go into the agreed time of hire, meaning your trip may have to be shortened. The bike and other equipment is your responsibility and you will be charged for in full if lost or stolen.

Cycle route Safety Cover: Please note that there is no safety cover on your trip. But we are contactable at all times to effect or organise a rescue on the number above.

Mobile phone coverage: Please be aware that mobile phone coverage on the cycle routes is minimal for a lot of the major networks.

Alcohol should not be consumed prior to your trip. Anyone found under the influence of alcohol or any other substances will not be permitted to hire or participate in the event. We discourage large amounts of alcohol being taken on your trip and have the right to confiscate it until you return. What to wear and spare equipment: Loose clothing. i.e. T shirts, trainers. (NOT sandals or flip flops). Please be aware when the sun is out, you will be exposed to the temperatures making it very hot , so please dress accordingly to minimise risk of heat stroke and sunburn. Also weather conditions can change very quickly on your journey. Bring a change of clothes just in case.

Do bring: A drink, chocolate bar, snack or picnic. Suitable sun tan lotion is also recommended.

Do not bring: Expensive jewellery. Watches, cameras, video cameras etc. We cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage to any of your effects.

Rubbish: As per the countryside code please protect the countryside and wildlife by not leaving rubbish along the cycle route or by dropping it in the river. Bring it back with you and we will dispose of it for you.
